Ron Lowther is a freelance film and television producer; and director of photography. Ron also works for the Broward Sheriff’s Office in the Covert Electronic Surveillance Unit as in-house producer for the agency; also handling retrieval and processing of digital video evidence as a video forensics specialist. His career has spanned over 30 years working for all of the national and most of the cable networks such as ESPN, Disney, National Geographic, Lifetime and Sci-Fi to name a few. Ron was line producer for the pre and post game shows on NBC for the ’97 World Series, and produced and directed the Neil at Night show on WAMI TV with Neil Rogers.
Ron worked for Steven Spielberg as director of photography for over 50 Holocaust survivor interviews for the SHOAH project. When that project was finished, Ron was line producer and production coordinator for the “Last Days” documentary, a Spielberg production, which won the Oscar for long version documentary. Ron also serves on the advisory board for the McFatter Technical School’s Television Production Program. Since 2012 Ron is presently in production of a World War II documentary titled ”The 756th Tank Battalion Project,” about a tank battalion that began their journey in North Africa, covering their story in the European Theater.
