Gunter W. Diehl
(June 3, 1935 - June 27, 2014) Gunter W. Diehl, 79, of Plantation, Florida passed away June 21, 2014. No formal funeral services were held.
Gunter Diehl was born in 1935. He grew up in Saarbrucken, Germany, throughout World War II. He became a master carpenter by the age of 18. After the war, he immigrated to Canada traveling by train to British Columbia. Always a nature lover and hiker. He soon became a proficient sawmill operator, timber man, camper, a bush pilot, and business man in Prince Rupert, Canada. Mr. Diehl is survived by his wife Caroline. Gunter and Caroline moved to Fort Lauderdale where he would become a general contractor, furniture designer, clock repair man, and community volunteer. Mr. Gunter was part of the Naval Air Station Fort Lauderdale Museum, where he graciously gave his time and effort in helping reconstruct the Museum's barrack room exhibit. He will be missed.
