USS Houston survivor, POW
David enlisted in the U.S Navy at the age of 19, and was stationed on the USS Houston where he was in charge of Radio communications. When Pearl Harbor was attacked, David received the message: " Japan has commenced hostilities. Govern yourselves accordingly."
Unfortunately, David was captured by the Japanese Navy and was listed as a POW for over three and a half years. David is a recipient of the Purple Heart Ribbon, several medals and stars. A military funeral honors service will take place at Arlington National Cemetery.
