Chao and her father, who enjoyed their visit with Allan. She commented: "While in Fort Lauderdale, with my father, he and I visited the Naval Air Station Fort Lauderdale Museum. We were given a delightful tour by its founder, Mr. Allan McElhiney, a veteran of World War II, and copies of his biography One Man's Vision, which chronicles his efforts to preserve the Naval Air Station".
