The Naval Air Station Fort Lauderdale Historical Association is the nonprofit, 501(c)(3) educational and fundraising organization that supports the development of the Naval Air Station Fort Lauderdale Museum (NASFL Museum). The Association is responsible for the maintenance of the Link Trainer Building which is on the U.S National Register of historic places and the only Military Museum in Broward County. We depend on your contributions to ensure the continued success of the Museum. Your charitable, tax deductible contributions to the Museum will be designated to specific areas or programs, or allotted to greatest need. Annual gifts can be given in installments throughout the year, or in one lump sum. Donors who give $1,000 or more for the year become a part of our Benefactors' Circle and receive permanent recognition in the Museum, a copy of the Museum's book publications, recognition in our Avenger newsletter, and a Flight 19 print by artist Bob Jenny.
This Museum has been instrumental in preserving the memory of the naval air station base during the period of 1942 -1946, as well as the memory of Flight 19, one of the great aviation mysteries. In addition, a 19 year old future US President George H.W. Bush lived at NASFL as a young Ensign to train as a torpedo/bomber pilot. The Museum houses an array of WWII memorabilia, a research library, a Link Trainer considered an Historic Engineering Landmark, a 25x7 aviation mural, original naval air paintings, and a recreated soldier's barracks. Contributions play a major role in our ability to expand and enhance the Museum and its educational programs. Thank You !
