Carolyn loved being a mother, and she also had lots of hobbies, such as sewing, cake decorating, painting, drawing, gardening, and arts and crafts. During the summer, she home-schooled her children, and would take them exploring South Florida's nature trails. She would also organize cook-outs on the beach.
In the 1970's Carolyn knitted a full size afghan blanket of the City of Fort Lauderdale flag. It was presented at the White House, by then city Commissioner Virginia Young, to President Gerald Ford.
Carolyn is survived by 4 children, Stephen Allan, Donna Lee, Deborah Ann, and Diane Ruth, brother Donald and family, half-brother Eddie and family, 9 grandchildren, Aaron, Jacob, Troy, Stephanie, Jason, Justin, Allan III, Glenn, and Dylan and, 8 great grandchildren, Brittany, Ivan, Kaitlynn, Luke, Jack, Jordan, Arianah, and Allan IV, and 1 great-great grandson James III.
A Memorial Service was held: Thursday, October 1st 2015, at Broward Burial & Cremation.
